He Saved Me

As a child in the wild, I was told about your love.

But in my youth I lost the truth that fit me like a glove.

I tried to save my life but lost it. What else can I say.

You left behind the Ninety Nine to find this one who lost his way.

I sowed and reaped, down in the deep. My head was wrapped in weeds.

Man of the World

I've got the perfect life and a lovely wife.

And besides my bride, I got a few on the side.

Check out my sporty car. I drive it to the bar.

I'll leave my wife at home, but I won't be alone.

Here I am, a man of the world.

The American dream come true.

But there's something missing.

I laugh at poverty. I live on Easy Street.

Six digit income, make's life a lot of fun.

But there's a lot of times, the women and the wine,

don't seem to fill my cup. Sometimes I wanna give up.

But then a still small voice spoke into my heart.

Said, "of your worldly ways, you surely must depart."

I've got the perfect life. Or so, I always thought.

But then my Savior said, "I'll fill that empty spot."

There I was, a man of the world.

The American dream come true.

But there was something missing.

Most High

There was a day, I'd smoke a jay and carry on my merry little way.

There was a time I'd do a line. I'm not hurtin' anyone so what's the crime.

Not any more. Not for me. I get my kicks from the Prince of Peace.

I get high on the most high God, high on the Lord.

There's no substance that can substitute, the feeling of the love, from the Lord above.

I've taken pills to get my thrills. I've done a lot of things although I know it kills.

I've done trips. Fried my brain. You'd of thought I caught a crazy train.

So if you think, you got no problems. Then you see no urgency to solve them.

But these chains in which you're bound, are keep you from walking holy ground.

So stop building up defences. And start considering consequences.

If your problem is addiction, he gives you strength in your affliction.

Open the door. Get set free, and get your kicks from the Prince of Peace.

Only Jesus

So this is what the world has to offer, but the world can't give me peace.

Sittin' crosslegged on the floor, doesn't help me when I need.

Well I could shave my head, run around in a dress.

But that would just seem to get me more depressed.

A dead man can't comfort me when I'm alone.

What I need right now is a friend.

Buddha doesn't care now if I cry.

and that Hari Chrishna don't care when I try.

And that ol' Mohamed don't care if I die.

Only Jesus.

So you can keep all your philosophies.

And your empty religion doesn't do it for me.
